Its been such a long time since my last post… the WP dashboard feels like a long lost friend.
And I dont know where to begin.
The usual stuff. Work pressure. Running after Goosh. And life in general. Its amazing how fast life goes by, aint it. And I’ve taken a week off from office just to try and catch up with it a little bit. One day at a time.
Goosh is a bit surprised to find Mommy at home the whole day. And loving every bit of it. So is Mommy. He’s turned into the naughtiest lil boy ever. Running around the house at full speed with an impish grin. Still hasn’t mastered taking turns though and often ends up going round and round .. or topples over trying to maneuver a turn at full speed. These days he’s faster than Mommy – who’s still hobbling – and quite proud of it.
Each day he does something new. Small incremental stuff. And every once in a while when I look back, I wonder – when did my lil baby grow up so much?? Sigh…
He’s surprised us innumerable times. God only knows how he understands so much. One fine day I just said “Go give this phone to aunty” and very sweetly he came, took it from my hand, went over to her and stood there with hands outstretched till she took it from him. I just looked on in stunned silence. Now I’ve realised he understands most of what we say to him. He just chooses to play dumb when it suits him.
The other day he picked up the phone, and started yapping away. Then got up from his perch and walked up and down through all the rooms – just like his Baba does. Talking away to glory in an earnest serious tone.
He knows his mind. He knows what he wants and what he doesnt. And now he’ll hold out hand and try to make it do what he wants. Like pull out a toy from under the bed. Or get something from the table.
He’s a lil adventurer. Looves wiggling his way through the maze of chair legs under the dining table. It’s his favourite playground. He’s also learnt how to pull out a chair, climb on it, and then climb onto the table. So that one sanctuary Mommy and Daddy had to keep stuff out of his reach is now gone. Oh, and he’s also now tall enough to reach the kitchen counter. And the gas stove. And all the door latches… You can imagine all the fun Mommy n Daddy are having. Other achievements include now being able to open and close the doors. And the shoe cabinet. And the crockery unit. The other day I cleared out a cane rack to keep his toys. very sweetly he took down the toys from it one by one. And then promptly proceeded to climb the cane rack. Yep. He’s a rock climber this one is! He did it once, twice.. and just kept at the whole evening. No amount of scolding, cajloing or distractions helped. It’s day 3 today, and he’s almost perfected the art.
I thought I’d just log in for a quick post. And here I am going on and on. There’s just so much to write. But I gotta run……
I so miss blogging……sigh sigh sigh.. oh well.. tomorrow’s another day…
Hope all of you had a Merry Christmas! And here’s wishing you and your family a happy new year ahead!
