Sorry everyone. Havent been logging on for a long long time. Thanks for writing in and all your lovely comments.
Quick post to break the silence. The blog withdrawal pangs were getting too severe to ignore any further 🙂
And the list of posts I want to write – all composed in my head so far – is getting so long that there’s no way I can catch up.
Oct has been a crazy hectic month.
1st to 4th Oct: Lovely weekend in Goa. Mostly rained out. But the Goosh LOVED it. All the attention he got from his dotting uncles and aunt, bumming out at beach side shacks all day long – even in the rain. And going crazy on the beach that one last day when the sun god decided to smile on us.
And once back, the Goosh and his baba promptly fell sick!! And mommy was washed under with loads of work.
Then the Diwali celebrations. Goosh’s first Diwali and he had a blast. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting friends and family and Ceaser – the not-so-small-pup. They were made for each other. Ceaser gently humoured Goosh’s attempts to ride him. And even came sniffing up to the car as Goosh got in to leave. I was afraid of how Goosh’d react to all the crackers – but after the first few he really enjoyed the firework show at our building. Would keep looking for the sparklers & those rockets to go off. And if there was any delay in lighting them, he’d call out and ask them to hurry up. My best part of Diwali was lighting the diyas and sitting with Goosh out in the balcony looking out at the firework shows all over the city. Advantages of living on the 5th floor with a clear view!
After diwali, the maid fell sick and was off for quite a few days. Then Goosh fell sick.
All the while, i’ve had bad deadlines at work (yeah, so what’s new!?) and had to work 10 hour days. Before kiddo, 10hr day was the norm. Now, it feels just waaaay tooo long.
Now my folks are over for a few days and Goosh has been basking in all the attention. Last weekend we drove up to Shravanbelgola (that was quite an adventure!) and got Goosh’s mundan done. He’s the most handsome baldie i’ve ever seen and I’ve fallen in love with him all over again. But somehow, without the soft lock, he looks ‘grown up’, more mature… more a brattie lil boy than my adorable lil baby. It feels like he suddenly grew up. All in one day.
Tomorrow.. tomorrow is his birthday. Smarties that we are, we left party decisions and preprations to the last minute and have been running around the last 2 days. I just cant get over the fact that my baby is one year old. Already. The squirmy little fellow who weighed less than 3 kgs and was only as big as his Baba’s hands … is already a one yr old intrepid explorer…..
