Sigh. He never ceases to amaze me. And I just cant get over him. I think he’s the most awesome, more adorable, cutest baby ever. But ofcourse, since I’m his Mom 🙂
He’s a bundle of sunshine. Of joy. Where ever he goes, he makes the world a happier place. Complete strangers stop to smile at him. To wave at him To talk back to him. I used to be taken aback by it. But now I step back and let him. Spread his joy. Its amazing to see so many strangers leave with a smile, their step a little lighter, their eyes a bit brighter. He’s got this magic wand. He looks at someone, this wide open loving look. He smiles. And their hearts melt. All inhibitions dropped. And they flock to him.
Yep, at 9 months, he has a fan following. Every person he meets in the lift. There’s the guy at Donut Bakers who’s made friends with him. There’s the staff at Spencers. Even the Pizza Corner delivery guys. Ofcourse all the security gaurds in the complex. The dhobi and his 2 daughters. The 5-yr-old-girl-on-pink-bike who followed his pram for a while today before mustering up courage to ‘talk’ to him. And then hung around and tried to get him to play with a ball for a good half hour. Or the girls from next door who stop to coochie koo every time they see him. Or the students from the girls hostel who hover around his pram. The ‘paati’ who stops by at the park to play with him after her daily Geeta reading sessions. Basically everyone he meets.
Bubbling with energy. On his feet. Crawling all over. Exploring everything. Turning everything into a toy. A joy
Sigh, Sigh sigh. My heart overfloweth. With joy and pride.
The numbing exhausting is a small price to pay.
Hmm, this post was supposed to be about his updates. Instead Mommy rants on.
The lil critter now sports 4 teeth. yes 4. Randomly distributed around his mouth much to the amusement of everyone who sees them. He now crawls ALL over the house, faster than a race car. Much much more steadier on his feet. Stands up and sits down by himself without any wobbles. And loves to ‘walk’ when I hold his hands. He’s learnt to navigate while crawling. He now finds his way around when I try to block him off. He’s figured out the height of the dining chairs and plays happily under them. He’s started to understand and enjoy peek-a-boo. he chuckles with glee and claps his hands when anyone opens the door to step out. Or the yelps of joy when he realises that we’re getting into the car…
He’s discovered a new sign ‘come’ – he’s been opening and closing his fist the whole day, at times accompanied by “aaaaa”. And I wonder if he actually corelates the two.
He’s gotten over his recent seperation anxiety. Doesnt get all worked up if Mommy’s out of sight. That means I can work in the kitchen for 10-15 minutes at a stretch before he comes running up and hugs my feet 🙂 The Explorer loves when I let him explore the kitchen drawers and cabinets esp the fridge. And at times manages to run away with an orange, a tomato or any other veggie – that mommy lets him.
Oh, and he also ‘patoed’ Doctor aunty. We went in for a vaccination y’day. This fellow promptly went and sat ON her desk and started playing with her stetho, and then letter pad. And then gave her the sweetest smile. He talked away happily & tugged at her hand while she weighed him and checked him. He winced a bit at injection time, but was back to himself before Dr Aunty stuck cotton on it. Cant tell you how amazed and how proud I was!
Darn, now if only I could learn the secret to his boundless energy…….
