Ok, so I’m slow. Till pretty recently, I would actually visit my favourite blogs each day to check for a new post. And as time went by, I liked more and more blogs. That meant more and more time checking for updates. Or the other way around – not reading blogs I liked ‘coz I didnt have the time or patience to keep pinging 20 different blog sites.
All this while I conveniently ignored the ‘RSS’ symbol that shows up on my blog. And all the other blogs I read. I didnt want to subscribe by email since my Inbox is already cluttered with sundry things I subscribed to, but dont have the time or inclination to read any more.
Techie that I am, this state continued for quite a while.
Till one day, while checking my gmail, I stumbled upon Google Reader. Its a neat little thing. Ya, I’m sure the whole world already knows. But I’m thrilled at discovering it. Hence this post.
On the top left corner of my Gmail screen, was a link marked “Reader”. I clicked on it. And life hasnt been the same since. Hehe.
Google reader is quite intuitive. Just takes a few minutes to figure out. I’ve added subscriptions to all my fav blogs. And all through the day, 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there, post-lunch break, in-between-tasks break, I now have a steady stream of perky posts to read. Without the bother of keeping track of new posts.
No, Google isnt paying me for this post. But I wish they were 😉
