Every new mom’s worst nightmare.
Today Juno rolled over..over the bed, and onto the floor. Woooooooooosh. Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnn.
He’d slept off comfortably for the night. (ya, he called it an early night). And I put him bang in the middle of the bed, and went off to have dinner. A few minutes after dinner, I suddenly heard his wail. FIL and I rushed to the room. A quick scan of the empty bed and I cried out for him. Found him on the floor, face down. He’d rolled over the bed – about 3 feet of it – onto the floor. And my heart jumped out and ran away. Picked him up, held him rocked him. Dunno who cried more, him or me. He seemed ‘ok’ other than his right cheek quickly turning red. No other bruise / bumps / cuts. THANK GOD!!!!
Called my Mom, my Dad, his Dad & 2 peadiatricians for advice. Basically, almost paniced. Ok, forget the ‘almost’.
20 minutes, lots of feeding, cajoling, rocking, loving, hugging and ice cubes later, Juno was himself again. Almost. Other than a a still bright red, swollen cheek. 10 minutes more, and he had me speechless. He was talking, and jumping and tugging and playing like nothing happened. Touch wood. If not for the swollen face, you couldnt make out what had just happened. THANK GOD.
Thank you God, for such a lovely and tenacious baby. And for watching over him. Please take care of him. And I promise to do my bit too. Tomorrow I go shopping for many many more pillows and cushions. And some foam sheets. Thick foam sheets on the floor around the bed. Piles and piles of pillows all around the bed. And sticking a prayer on the bed head.
Juno’s first bungy jumping experience. Without the jungee jumping cord. And Mommy fervently prays that its the last such attempt.
