The last 2 weeks have gone by in a whirl. So much happening. Me tired all the time.
My Mom was away for a week. So I had to handle house, cooking, and take care of Junior! Believe me, that’s quite a handful! I also had 2 interviews lined up with the only company in Indore that looks like it could give me some work that’s atleast a bit related to my embedded SW profile. I’d like to say I aced the interviews… but I’m not too sure about it. What we did realise is that I’m not a perfect match for the job – but hey, if I get the job, I’ll do it good.
Anyways.. enough about me.
Junior’s also been pretty active. He amazes me each day. Today it seems like he’s suddenly ‘grown up’. He’s been looking me in the eye each time I pick him up. Holding his head like a grown up.
He’s learnt a few new tricks.
One was sticking his tongue out. When we looked at him, or made him laugh, instead of his usual smile, he’d stick his tongue out. Instead of his normal ‘agoo’s he’d stick his tongue out. Anything and everything, he’d stick his tongue out. This lasted for about 3-4 days.
2 days ago, he learnt to smooch. He gives us flying kissies 🙂 ok ok, he’s just learnt to smack his lips together and does it ever sooo often. His Nani was shocked the first time she heard him. Then she got into the spirit of things and they had a nice long flying kissie conversation!
Junior has now also learnt to turn over. The first time was when I’d left him on the bed and gone to clean his poop. I came back and the smart little fellow was playing on his side. I promptly called up his Daddy and was describing the scene to him, when the little one swung over onhis stomach. His hands were somehow stuck under him and he struggled and struggled to get them out. Didnt work. And he started crying. I lent him a helping hand. Then he pushed and shoved and wriggled and twisted all the way over to the other end of the bed!!! Yahooooo!!! His first attempt at crawling!!! My, the little fellow is growing up fast!
Oh, btw, he’s now 6.2 kgs and 62 cm tall. And he’s been promoted to the L sized pampers!
He’s been drooling non-stop and I dont know what to do about it. He wets a few bibs in day! It feels like he’s had a bath every hour! I wonder how he manages to drool so muich – its more than even his milk intake…
Oh and he has a thing for the mosquitos. Every few days, he’ll get extra pally with them and in return, be kissed all over his face and legs. The mosquito kissies take a few days to clear up. And just when I think oh yes, I’ll get to see a clear smiling baby faces, his friends come and kiss him all over again. Sigh. This is inspite of the mosquito nets, the ‘all-out’ etc etc that we use. What to do??
We give him a bottle of milk every once in a while if we go out. These days, he holds on to the bottle with both hands. Or tries to. And normal feed times have also become very playful. He’ll take a few gulps, let go, pull his hands together, and look up at me and smile. It’s one of those oh-my-god moments. I just melt. He’ll coo and gurgle, then promptly dig right back in.
