It’s partytime aka midnight again!!! Right after his midnight feed, Junior is active and raring to go. Its like I fed him a few cups of coffee or there was some serious stuff mixed up in my milk. He’s laughing and cooing and wanting me to pick him up and walk around.
And I can barely keep my eyes open….
How does one get an active playful baby to sleep??
Junior’s 3 months old now. I wonder when he’ll settle into a routine.
I dont know what to do about this baby’s nails. They are just so sharp!!! I cut them with a baby clipper every 3-4 days. I cut them as close as I dare to. Yet.. they are sooo sharp and strong. He scratches himself every so often. The other day his nails tore away a lil piece of skin and caused some bleeding on my finger. I’m scared he’ll scratch himself even more. What to do??
The LO is learning to grasp things. Today he managed to clutch a rattle that was lying close by. He moved it around in his hand and kept staring at it. I guess he was trying to figure how to bring it closer. But he miscalculated and wham! It hit his face. There was this stunned look on his face oh-my-god-what-was-that! I picked him up before he could figure out and start crying.
He loves my singing!!!! Yes!! Yipeeeee!!! I cant believe it!!! In my hostel days I’ve been threatened with a shoe when I sang. People would put their hands over their ears. I’ve been warned many times not to even attempt it. But Junior’s changing my world in so many ways. He loves to hear me sing 🙂 Or so I’d like to think. I sing to him all odds and ends of songs I can remember. I sing the alphabet to him. And the numbers in spanish. I make up songs about the day. And when nothing else works, I talk back to him in his language – coos and glutterous gurgles.
He’s learning to sit up. Whole of last week he’d sit comfortably in our laps. We just had to provide a lil back support. This week, he reaches out for my hands, wraps his lil hands around my finger and tries to pull himself up. He manages to get up about an inch. If I hold his hands tight and pull, he manages to sit up completely. And oh how he LOVES that!!! his face lights up instantly and I’m rewarded with that amazing smile.
Why do kids suck their thumb???
Aarav has taken a real fancy to his thunb. Last few days, if we leave him alone for even a minute, he sticks his thumb into his mouth. Sometimes he even tries to stick in one or both of his hands. And he loves taking a good loud swig at his thumb – sucks away at it like he’s out to creat vacuum. It actually sounds like its one LOUD kiss!
Y’day he moved up the ladder one notch – he also started sucking his thumb in his sleep!
