24 little hours..
brought the sun and the flowers..
where there used to be rain..Watching a child grow is an amazing experience. Each day brings with it so many changes, so many ‘firsts’. So many heart melting moments. This past week Junior has been on a growth spurt. He’s so much fun to play with now! Hubby dearest has been travelling and missed out on so much…
We hung some rattles on his bassinet and mosquite net. He took an instant liking to it. So far he hadnt really played with toys. But now, he doesnt stop! he loves the rattles we hung for him. he’s figured out how to bat at them with closed fists, how to move them closer to him. And in the bassinet, he’s even learnt how to kick his toys!
He has a stong grip. If you bring a finger to his fist, he’ll hold it real tight. but he hasnt started grasping objects yet. So I thought let me try a rattle. And lo and behold – he held on to it. And shook it. And enjoyed it. but all the while he couldnt figure out that he had the rattle 😉
Normally, we let him lie on his back and play. But these days, he’s been emjoying sitting upright in our laps. And when I let go of him.. he just sat there and stared right back at me wiht a ‘What did you think Ma, I can sit up straight’.
He’s learnt to hold his neck up and push. He’ll fold his hands, hunch his back, push his neck and feet up as if trying to get out of his bassinet.
When we leave him on his stomach for a while, he holds his head up and pushes his knees – his first attempts at crawling.
I wore a bright yellow suit today, with big blue flowers. He loved it. He gave me the bestest compliment possible. He sat in my lap staring at my suit and started talking and cooing to it!
